Weaving Equity with Policy, Partners & Purpose

The PC way

Braids hold a special status for Black people especially, because we know what it feels to be

joined,

pulled,

twisted,

                           still,

       patient,

                                   coded,

                            mysterious,

                      parted,

                            rooted,

                                 disguised,

                                         reviled,

                          and tight. tight. so tight.

The PC Way is rooted in core beliefs about equity and humanity.

We believe in the power of color to find solutions to tough challenges.

We believe everyone should be valued.

We believe in the power of safe environments.

We believe in the power of collaboration with unlikely partners.

We believe confronting the ugly so we can move us closer to the beauty of what is possible.

We believe that the strategies of oppressed  communities hold value and will protect us all.

We believe that humanity should not have to shrink, hide or shadow who they truly are.

We believe in equity.

We believe in people being.

Braids hold a special status for Black people especially, because we know what it feels to be

                                   joined,

                             pulled,

                                   twisted,

still,

                   patient,

                               coded,

                           mysterious,

      parted,

                                      rooted,

                                 disguised,

                             reviled,

                   and tight. tight. so tight.

Mission

Pink Cornrows is a majority femme and people of color firm that dares to weave the strategies of geniuses forgotten, leaders denied a seat, and voices unprotected.

We deliver solutions that braid together law, communications, public policy and culture to center equity in unsafe spaces. We provide service the PC Way — establishing a new normal for those who have been silenced, scared, and abused to succeed.

Our work is grounded in equity. We use data to impact spaces across the spectrum, undoing harmful policies, workplace norms, and societal structures and rebuilding leaders, spaces and organizations. PC strategists are space disruptors.

Our presence vibrates differently. We take on the violence of systems by prioritizing femmes, the disabled, queer people and communities of color to weave solutions we need most. We have a proven track record of rebuilding enlightened leaders exposed to unconventional approaches to problem solving, and equipped to shift spaces where inequity exists.

Weaving our combined efforts, Pink Cornrows makes meaningful connections between a very expensive diversity and equity industry and people of color who continue to suffer social and economic inequities and lack the same protections as their counterparts.

We create safe spaces for Black people to show up exactly as we are: melaninated, crowned, multilayered. We take people on a journey through data, asking deeper questions and offering unconventional solutions. We train leaders to shift their focus from profitmaking to prioritizing  equity.

PC strategists are revealers and problemsolvers, focused on transforming corporate, non-profit, policy, education, communications/media, and movement building spaces where the vulnerable are robbed of their power. We support our clients to meet their goals in the most equitable ways. We offer traditional services but also lift up underutilized approaches that foster awareness, commitment, and action. We provide safety for the most vulnerable to be brave.
